How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? Check and clean any thing that has to do with idle air system. If your pushing pedal to floor, that may be clear flood mode. Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Try to see if fuel system is running rich? Just my opinion.

Clean the idle air valve and seat on the back of the throttle body. They get rather dirty n if they get dirty enough, the idle air control won't be able to compensate enough to route air to the intake for start up.
