Asked by David May 31, 2015 at 09:24 PM about the 1999 Dodge RAM 1500 ST Club Cab LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Driving along and then the motor stops. Instrument gauges don't work and my 1999
Dodge 1500 truck want start up till sometimes a half hour. Then some times right away. All
the rest of the power to the truck works fine. A/C, radio, windows, lights , horn. But want
start..... Will do this all day and then most of the time next day or weeks it runs fine. Took
for someone to repair it. Probable did not flair up for 5 months later.

Crank Position Sensor sounds right. If you let it sit for awhile it starts up again or its good for days then acts up.

The engine will crank , so starters good. Just noticed that I can not start the truck and all the instruments gauge are not working. But when i do get it started the gauges all work again. No warning lamps turn on. Kinda like turning off a light switch.

Actually it was the PCM. Had Dodge check it out. Thanks for all the help that was given. It has been running really good after a new one and re programmed. Thanks again for all the help here.
