when i start the car the accelerator sticks at 2000 rpms what is the problem?

car starts and goes straight to 2000 rpms when driving the car continues to accelerate until
foot in on brake and once brake is released it takes off

This is one I suggest getting your OBD codes scanned. Any large parts place will do it free....write down the codes and bring them back here

Meantime take a good look at your throttle cable and make sure it looks right this will get bigger so you can see it, click on the image

check your power brake booster vacuum check valve for leaking vacuum and surrounding hoses, also consider internal diaphragm split in canister brake booster!

Sounds like a throttle cable not being adjusted properly
