My car starts normally then revs up to 1500 rpms then goes back down and dies. I start it a second time and it starts fine and stays running. Any suggestions to what might be wrong?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It started as an intermittent  problem about 3 weeks ago and is now happening at
almost every start. Also noticed it's idling high at 1500 in park but not at stoplights

Sounds like a vacume leak, possibly the throttle body gasket but check all other vacume lines.
