how can i know for certain that the injector on my 2001 2.2l is the culprit of my misfiring cylinder?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Id replaced the injector and at first, my misfire had gone away. Slowly but
surely, the engine would stumble intermittently, and know its misfiring
completely.  (cyl 3) With the eng. running, i cancelled said cylinder and the
eng. ran the same. Whats the possibility of my fuel rail failing at just one
injector? (seems unlikely) How can the same injector be failing twice?

A misfire doesn't have to be fuel related. Check the ignition side.

Spark plugs if you haven't already- Does this engine have individual ignition packs? If so, try replacing #3....

its a distributor sending spark, and i know the spark plug is getting power ( by manually removing the spark plug wire and checking for spark at a grounded stud), i removed the spark plug and it didnt really seemed fouled in any way, so im wondering if the electrical wiring of the injector may be whats causing my problem. Has anyone seen this before and where should i begin looking? Thank you Auto_centric and John for your input. ill check again per your suggestions
