Dumping fuel down the throttle body and the engine starts, but does not keep running is a good indication of a bad fuel pump or leaky injector system. To verify you would need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve up on the intake manifold on the fuel line, and check the fuel pressure by turning the key on, off until fuel pressure builds up. Fuel pressure should be 56 to 63 lbs. Then with the key turned off, watch the fuel pressure on the gauge, pressure should not drop more than 5 lbs. in 3 minutes. If it does then the spider injection assembly would have to be replaced.
