Won't start

I have a 2002 trailblazer that i have had no
problems with. Tonight got home from work
turned it off.went to turn it back on and it
had absolutely no power and wouldn't
release the key. Messed w the key for a bit
and came back on. Did this a couple more
times. Then turned it off and tried to turn
back on ome more time and the lights all
came on and it made a clicking sound. Tried
or again and it started. Tried it a final time
and lights came on and made the clicking
again.

Investigate the simple easiest things first....Battery connections? Is the key cylinder sloppy? Is the battery charging?
