Overheating trailblazer 2002 LT

I have a 2002 Trailblazer LT my check Gage light keeps
coming on and overheating I put coolant and mix it with
water let it sit for 30 minutes turn it back on and it still was
overheating no leak from the water pump hose no smoke
no sound from engine belt engine coolant container is full
not too much just enough on the full line

Hook a scanner up and see what the real temperature is. If it's not really overheating, replace the temp sensor right above the thermostat. Pretty common problem. If not, might be time for a thermostat at minimum.

If the plastic coolant recovery tank was empty you need to, with the engine cold, remove the radiator cap and add coolant directly to the radiator. Fill the radiator to the very top. Then start the engine. If the coolant level goes down, top it off. Put the radiator cap back on then fill the plastic recovery tank to the full cold line. Hope that helps! Jim
