Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put my 1999 f250 in 4wheel drive to get up a
small hill, made it up the hill but then it wouldn't go
back into any gear but reverse, park. It has never
had transmission problems before. Can anyone
help with answers please...

Will it go into neutral? Did you try putting it into neutral, then putting the t-case into neutral as well, THEN shifting the trans? It won't move, (the truck) but if you can get the trans selector lever into drive, then into neutral again, then the T-case into 2wd, then try to put the trans into D, it should all work.
