Asked by Nathan Jul 05, 2008 at 09:14 PM about the 1993 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning 2 Dr STD Standard Cab SB

Question type: General

I just bought a '93 Ford Lightning. But the guy I bought it from took off the original black  bumpers and grill. He also got rid of the stock rims. All of the new parts are chrome. Do you think I should buy all the original black parts or leave it chrome?

what do like the look of better? Go with what you like the look of better. Since the part you would be putting on the truck wouldn't be the originals it wouldn't have the same value, but bring it back to what it was as factory is also a cool idea. So i would say just go with what you like the look of.

just my opinion i like the black, but is up to you ,as far as resale price if you deside to sell later down the road wont affect sale.if keeping for your self for the long run put it back stock.

I used to own a black 94 lightning. If you're going to leave the chrome wheels on, it would be ok to leave the rest like that. My opinion is take the damn chrome off and put the black back on. Much sweeter. If you change wheels, go with black to match original parts.

Having all original parts can only help to future potential buyers who enjoy history and originality.
