Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2002 Chevy suburban 1500. My vehicle
doesnt overheat at all when a/c is off, even sitting
still idling. But when I have the a/c on it will
overheat only when sitting still in very hot weather.

The AC adds heat load to the engine. You may need to service your engine cooling system or install a HD radiator. Adding an electric pusher fan can also help.

This is going to be an airflow problem. Make sure the radiator cooling fans are working, the fan shroud is not missing or broken, and that nothing is blocking the front of the radiator like dirt, leaves, or other debris. Hope that helps! Jim
