Overheating vehicle

Asked by Allen Nov 20, 2017 at 07:48 PM about the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My blazer is overheating but only when I’m running
the heater. I replaced the radiator in August and this
just started happening. I replaced the thermostat
three days ago and that didn’t fix it. Just ordered a
new heater core....what are the chances that’s the
problem and it’s not the head gasket?!

a compression test will tell you if it's the gasket , how's the performance ? has gas mileage dropped ? Look under the oil fill cap what do you see ?
