Starter problem

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ford told me my starter was bad, put new starter
and solenoid on the fire wall along with a new
battery, started once and would not start again,
solenoid so hot you can't touch it! Please help!

The fender mounted solenoid is capable of handling the entire amperage from the battery during start. If it is that hot after one start, you probably burnt it up. Make sure you got the correct one for the truck and is connected correctly. Never crank the engine for more than five seconds without turning it off to allowed the components to cool.
