I have a 2002 F-150 the tranny is blown. there are tw0 models shown for that truck the 54L 4R100 and 4R70 will the both work ? the 4R100 is supposed to be stronger will either work?

2002 F-150 4x4  5.4  V8 I need to order the tranny but I do not have the truck
where I can look which model is actually on the truck. There are two listed 54L
4R100 and the 4R 70 can I use either?

Yours should be a 4R70W but not any 4R70W will work. Get the correct one for your truck.

Be careful. I replaced the transmission on my 2002 F150 and you need the correct part which you can find by running the VIN. Since the transmission is computer controlled you may have problems even if the transmission bolts up so get the correct one. I highly recommend going with a Ford factory rebuilt transmission as they are warrantied for 3 years, unlimited miles!
