I have a 2000 ford f150. it starts fine if my foot is on the brake and i put it in drive it kills. why?

I thought vacuum hose leak, i checked all hoses i found one coming out the
back of the manifold and goes into a pvc valve, it was all cut up and burnt so i
replaced it, even replaced the valve.
I can set the parking break and then switch ot to drive and it won't kill. Only at
a complete stop with the brakes applied.

Is the engine idling really low? It should be about 650 rpm.

Check to see if the brake booster vacuum line is cracked.

It turns out just had some bad gas i guess. changed the idle air control valve kinda worked adjusted the idle to make it idle higher, and then ran the gas out of it and refueled it and now it runs like new.
