Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought an 02 Chevy cavalier that wont stat.  It
cranks fine and will start with starting fluid but dies
quickly once the starting fluid is gone. I'm thinking
cost with you injection, fuel filter and are prompt,
maybe timing chain. Give me a number thing. Any
suggestions on where to start would be greatly

Turn the ignition key on but don't try to start the engine. You should hear the fuel pump run a few seconds. If not, get a hammer and hit the bottom center of the gas tank a few times. If that gets you going the fuel pump is bad! Hope that helps! Jim
