Ok so i recently purchased a 2001 ford explorer
sport i bought it and it looks like the engine has
recently been replaced as does the altenator and
battery it all looks too clean but any ways my
battery light woulf come one and the guage would
drop down low then either a few minutes later or if
i turned off my car and restart it it would go back
to normal and the battery light would go off and
same with the guage as if nothing happened im
pretty sure its the altenator going out but i start
the car and disconnect the battery and the truck
stay running is there any other thing that would
cause this  or do i just need to get the altenator
checked?

NEVER EVER disconnect the battery with the engine running. It is possible under certain circumstances to fry the ECU by doing only that. Get it properly diagnosed. It may have the incorrect alternator on it.
