Overheating

Have an 03 Chevy impala that the temp gauge seems to be
showing the car overheating but its not cause there's no
smoke coming out so I've been trying to figure out what's
the problem cause I out antifreeze but temp stills goes up

Its sounds like a stuck thermostat. Removal and replacement does not look like a terrible DIY project. https://www.2carpros.com/questions/2003-chevrolet-impala- termostat-replacement
