Hi Charity. Normally there are sensors in the side panel of the car that will deploy the airbags in a crash of sufficient force. if you need further details about the location and specs of these sensors you should contact your Chevy Dealers Service Manager. The air bags are both vital safety equipment and dangerous when tampered with. You should not mess with them without a very solid knowledge of what you are doing. Good luck!
