What is w & s driving modes

Winter and Summer. Winter mode starts off on a higher gear to help with traction, to not apply too much power that MB has.

some models of MB have it marked as S (sport) and C (comfort). Starting off in 2nd gear (C) is supposed to save a little gas - "they say".
