Newer cars do not require you to press the gas pedal first, everything is activated by the computer the moment you turn the key on the ignition switch. Older cars, up the 1970's require the driver to step on the gas pedal to engage the fast idle throttle when cold. I know, I have a 2018 Mercedes E 300 and a 1957 Ford Fairlane.

Do I push the gas pedal first or just turn the key on. Do not need to know what to do if problems or what to do after it starts. This is a simple question.
