1994 e320 surges at idle but ok when driving?

Asked by Bob May 26, 2016 at 02:48 PM about the 1994 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E 320 Convertible

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At idle it started surging up and down but in gear
under load no problem?
Would rather not take it to a dealer to analyze. I was
told probably either air flow meter or dirty throttle
body?

Have it scanned for DTC codes the computer knows! NO lights necessary it has codes. 22 years old a good through tune is needed.
