Why does my transmission not have power

I think my transmission fluid needs changed on my 2004
chevy Malibu classic any suggestions

When was it changed last? No power is indication of a more serious issue than a fluid change. Your probably too late. Have a mechanic diagnose your issue. We'd only be guessing with the information you supplied.
