Has anyone removed the speedometer cable for standard pickup 22re with automatic transmission and if so is it a requirement to remove the instrument panel to do so? Tom

If its a 1990 It should have a transmission speed sensor and not a speedometer cable. if it does have a speedo cable you do have to remove it to get the dash out. It just has one fitting that threads into the back of the speedometer.
