engine starts for 3 seconds then stops

That sounds like a security system problem. Any dash lights on?

Have the OBD2 codes read to know what is going on. I would not worry about the engine oil.

You can't bypass the security. Buy or borrow a code reader. They are less than a $100 on Amazon.
