1992 Corolla Transmission Damaged

Asked by Sloppy_giuseppe Jul 26, 2015 at 06:41 AM about the 1992 Toyota Corolla STD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The wife banged our old 1992 Corolla up over a highish kerb [RHD] to avoid a 'tail-gater'.
She then drove it home OK, but from the next morning it won't move forwards or
backwards !  Engine just revs.
Obviously major damage....but where to start ?

you can also verify manual lever actuates while a helper shifts the ranges, see if cable operated, could get knocked off, broke free and out of range but actuating some still. ? range adjust on some cables can pop apart and need a strap added to hold them once corrected
