My car starts but the heat, lights, locking it and pretty much everything else including changing gears won't work. What can I do?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Toyota Camry CE 2001 and
this weekend it's been very cold it
went up to -40c. Last night I tried to
turn on and it does but I can't
change gears or turn the heat on or
anything else.

it may take a while for any car to heat up enough to work normal. Oil is especially effected because it can get as thick as molasses and it needs to be thin in order to flow inside the trans. You should be ok once the temp inside the car rises
