camry keeps dying

Asked by camry99td Feb 16, 2015 at 03:16 PM about the 1999 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car was revving to 2000rpm and then die.  Took the car to the dealer and they said I
need an idle air control valve.  Took it to a smaller shop and I've replaced the idle air
control value, wouldnt start, then replaced the plugs and wires, wouldnt start, then cam
shaft and crank shaft sensors. The car ran for 3 days then started doing the same thing
rev to 2000 then die.  Thoughts please.  thx

Try unplugging your EGR and see if that makes a difference. Then try unplugging you MAF and see if it will run better. Post back with results.

The repair shop replaced the camshaft and crankshaft sensors again. I've advised the repair people on the EGR and MAF and will report back. thanks
