Smoking when starting

It smokes when I start it , then goes away, doesn't smell like oil smells like a carbon, runs great, just had serviced no
water in oil never overheated, help please my only car and way to work , 164,000 miles

DEPENDING ON YOUR MILAGE,IF IT'S HIGH, CHANCES ARE THAT THE VALVE GUIDES ARE WORN, THIS IS MOST PROBABLY YOUR PROBLEM.IF YOU CAN LIVE WITH PUTTING A QUART OF OIL IN IT,VERSES A COMPLETE HEAD REBUILD. CHECK TO SEE HOW MUCH OIL YOU ARE USING PER WEEK, THIS WILL GIVE YOU A BETTER HANDLE ON COST.
