Have a leak in the power rack & pinion system

Asked by Guru9YB3M Jun 11, 2017 at 03:00 PM about the 1992 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Mechanic said it was the Hi pressure hose.  He changed it. still a leak.
Another said it was the nipple on the side of the pump, attached to the
hose from the Filler Container.  But I realized that when I turn the steering
totally to the left, I heard the pump make a gurgling sound (the fluid is
starting to ooze out.  It makes me feel that it's coming from the pass-side
Rack Boot, it might be broken.

Supposing it's like I'm thinking. That it's the Rack Boot. I know that inside the boot it should have a 1/8 metal tube that shoots fluid from the rack piston into the boot when the boot lengthens & pulls in the fluid when the rack piston goes into the rack body & shortens the boot.
