Does the dashboard need to be removed to get to a leak in the air conditioning evaporator?
Slowly losing cooling from a/c. Repairer could not find the leak. They put a
dye in it to find the leak. They have now come back and said the leak is in the
evaporator and they will need to remove the dashboard to fix the leak. Is this
if the A/C evaporator is leaking, then yes the whole dash has to come out to remove the HVAC assembly that contains the evaporator. 5.3 hours labor. I would get a second opinion since toyota evaporators rarely leak unless damaged in accident. More likely the A/C condenser in front of radiator.
