Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good, all ends not just at the battery. You can use digital multimeter across battery posts, everything off, the generic spec for a full charge is 12.6 volts, if much below that, put a charger on it. See the crank fuse in diagram, check for voltage, hopefully a test light is ok to use. See the crank relay in diagram, if possible, unplug it. Use jumper wire in cavities on switch side of relay, left side in diagram, the starter motor should crank the engine. If you try that, make sure transmission is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. Vehicle can't move. another thought, if battery was run down, some modules may need to relearn or be reprogrammed. I'll see if I can find relearn procedure. I was wondering about your security system? That's all I can think of.

And never buy parts for your car based on what a tow truck driver thinks might be wrong. Always diagnose first, pinpoint the problem and then replace parts. As well as what was suggested above, scan it for trouble codes.
