Engine light on

My check engine light keeps coming on. What does this mean?

It means you need to have the computer scanned for codes. This will point you in the direction you need. You may just have to make sure your gas cap is tight. If you don't get it tight it will throw a code.

I did a computer scan it said I needed a smog pump I repaired the smog pump check engine light went off went to get a small check engine light was all turned it back on and engine lights back on

I have a 2007 Chevy Cobalt the check engine light came on the code was showing it was a bad accelerator pedal I went and bought a new one when I got it in there I drove about 10 MI and they came back on I can't figure out what's going on like I said it was a brand new pedal I bought
