96 subaru awd rear wheels have no power

More details please, has it always been like this or did it just go out, did it, is it auto or manual?
may have started about a month ago.would spin on wet road or gravel.before that u couldn't even get it to spin in snow.never got around to looking at it. today it snowed car wouldn't go anywhere.drive shaft is still there.do not want to disable awd need it for bad weather.could not find afuse marked for awd in owners man. or on fuse panel.put a fuse in awd under hood fwd lite came on and front wh.dr. only for sure
well if your sure neither back wheel has power it's probably the viscous center differential, normally the auto works to send 90% of the power to the front wheels and 10% to the rear unless it detects slip, then the viscous diff kicks in locking the power split to 50% front 50% rear, to equalize power and cut down on slip. if you have no power being put to the rear it's either a issue with the center diff or possibly a stripped out output shaft from the transmission is the other thing.
I grabbed the driveshaft it has some play but not stripped.Where is this viscous diff everyone is talking about. is it internal or exturnal
it's a component inside the transmission, you'd have to remove and pull apart the transmission to see it.
Get yourself a test light and check every fuse in every fuse box in the vehicle before anything else.

I had no power to rear wheels 95 legacy ,ran test found voltage at engagement solenoid all the time, no fuse in FWD box under hood was testing trans module when I disconnected one wire connector heard a buzz noise, reconnected module, voltage left solenoid, all wheel drive works now . What reset it’s self ? ?
