I have a 2001 Forester. New clutch and tune up 6 months ago. New water, oil pumps and timing belt last year. The problem: it makes a low trilling sound when I am driving. It drives great. Any idea what the issue might be?

Possibly gear or bearing issues in the transmission. Check the gear oil level. My nearly new manual transmission Subaru makes faint noises like that under light load conditions occasionally and to me it is nothing to worry about.

Not familiar with trilling? Did you replace the idlers and tensioners with the belt replacement?
