Automatic trans makes whinnying sound at idle

How much fluid do you have in the transmission? Also could be a pump needing attention. Have you had it serviced lately? Are you sure it's the transmission and not the power steering pump needing fluid?

I'm with calcarson, I would check that power steering pump first, they can whine pretty loud when low of fluid..... good luck, Kmac.
