is the sound coming from your serpentine belt or a particular pulley?

Mine did too. Either replace the serpentine belt or spray belt conditioner on it, which is what I did. I had to spray it on a couple times, but it made the belt stop making noise.

"shiny surface" on the flat side of the belt and "cracks" along the groove side of belt indicate a worn belt in need of replacement. also check for correct tension, loose belts will squeal, slap, and make unfamiliar sounds. a couple sqirts of wd-40 will help for short time, but is not a remedy for the cause. don't allow a belt failure to leave one stranded on a dark and lonely highway in the middle of night...
