key stuck in the ignition of 2005 pontiac will not go into the off position but will start how do i get the keys out

my key is stuck in my 2005 ignition and i cant get it out the car will come on but will not go to the off position i have been at this for hours any help will be welcomed i cant find the interlock to release it manually

Is it an auto trans? If so try moving gear shift to another position then back to park.
