2004 Grand Prix No MAF readings from brand new sensor

I'm working on a friend's 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix
GT.  Engine light came on with code p0102 so I
installed a new air cleaner and then a new MAF
sensor. Still coming up with code P0102. Checked
live readings and getting no readings from MAF
sensor and downstream O2 sensor is bouncing all
over the place. Any help?

Check the wiring. All connections need to be tight and clean. My mechanic has fixed things on my older cars by simply doing this and not replacing any parts at all. Modern electrical systems are so sensitive. It takes very little to disturb the flow of current and make things go weird. Hope this helps.
