What Is Wrong With Me Rear Right Turn Signal?

Asked by rachel Mar 05, 2021 at 12:27 AM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My dash board was indicating to me that my right turn signal was not
working, I changed the bulb in the rear due to that was the one not working,
and I checked to see if everything was fine after I had completed the job at
had, it seemed to work. An hour later I went for a drive and the dash board
yet again indicated again that it was the same right turn signal not working,
Can someone tell me what I should do next or even be looking for

Note the diagram for turn signal. When problem is ongoing, did you check external turn lamps to see if they were flashing, front and rear? you could always park the vehicle, transmission in park park, parking brake set, get out and take a look. If they are flashing, then the instrument cluster may have a problem? In the lower part of diagram for turn signals, that top wire is voltage, the bottom black wire is ground, check voltage and ground, you can use a test light. good luck

Sounds like it could be the signal light switch itself. When they start to fail they often send random signals which make the lights do all sorts of strange things.
