why would my car hesitate when acclerating?

when I accelerate my car seems to bog down and then it suddenly just takes off. the check engine light sometimes goes off but once the bogging happens again it starts flashing. tried some injector cleaner, but that didn't really seem to help much. I've been reading around and some people say that's it could be the mass airflow sensor, but other people say that it could be plugs or wires. Not really sure what to do so was wondering if someone could help.

Get the CODES read. Flashing check engine light means a misfire has been detected, find out which cylinder and we can go from there. Since it only does it under a load that means it's most likely a plug, wire, or possibly the coil. All can easily be tested without tools, just AutoZones scanner is needed. As for fixing it tools will be needed for that unless it's the wire. My 1990 regal had a misfire under a load and it turned out to be a cracked coil. And sew plenty of wires and plugs do the same, just not on personal vehicles.
