Most likely your key fob circuit board has shorted out. Since the alarm sets when you lock the car with the lock button, opening it with just the key triggers the PASS Lock safety system. After you start it and it dies, will it restart? If not, turn the key off, then back on just to the run position. Wait 10 minutes. Turn the key off, on, off count to 10 and attempt to start it. If it starts and runs, the PASS LOCK system was triggered. You will have to get a new key fob from the dealer and/or manually lock your doors so as not to set the alarm.
