A buddy has a 2000 Pontiac Grand am. All of the lights on the dash are on and the car will start and run for maybe a second then turn off. After trying to start multiple times the battery went dead and now it does the really slow cranking and wont start. We charged the battery over night and it does the same thing. He did put a new head unit in also.

I would go back over your head unit wiring and make sure you made the right connections. There is one lead that connects through the ignition circuit that prevents the radio from being ON when the car is not running.

Ok we tried the security alarm part of it and got the car to run, but now the 12 volt constant hooked up to the head unit does not have a charge.
