Smoke from steering column

Asked by Rani Dec 16, 2015 at 10:56 PM about the 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 4 Dr S Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.. Today I
was driving home from work and was stopped at a
red light! I saw smoke coming from the steering
column and could smell something burning.. I
started driving on home and the smoke went away
but I could still smell the burning.. Once I got on
the highway I couldn't smell it anymore.. What
could be happening?
