1992 oldsmobile cutlas supreme : What makes the digital dashboard not work that shows speedometer , gas gauge & mileage

What causes the dash board cluster where the speedometer , gas gauge &
mileage to flash on & off ? Sometimes I can hit it & it will come on & then goes
right back off .

A bad electrical connection would cause this. It's going to require taking the dash apart and the cluster out. Inspect electrical connections for loose, dirty, or broken terminals.
