Turn off the engine of your 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. Grab your flat-head screwdriver and stand in front of the grille. Locate the six locking tabs that secure the grille to the front of the Grand Marquis. Push each locking tab down with your flat-head screwdriver. When all of the tabs are pushed down, the grille is ready to come off. Grasp each side of the grille firmly. Pull it out to remove it from the Grand Marquis.

The 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis shares most of its components with its sister vehicle, the Ford Crown Victoria. However, the grille on each is slightly different. Instead of being held in place with screws, the grille on the Marquis is fully secured with locking tabs. This makes removing the car's grille a relatively simple procedure that you can complete in about five minutes. Removing the grille is necessary if you wish to replace it or if you need to access the area behind it for repairs.

Your intimacy with this design is freightening, DavidH25, I do believe that you've probably owned one of these and can speak with a most convincing authority on the subject. You leave the rest of us stranded in a scirocco (dust storm, not the beloved VW sports effort)-

Betcha the 'interceptor' has many subtle changes to the standard Crown Vic that you wouldn't notice unless you were intimately involved with this, such as screws holdin' the front grille...take time to steal that one...

Matter of fact I did have a Crown Vic for a while, not an cop car interceptor, those are way cool though. Only had it less than a year so never put it in my 'garage' here it was even a 2000 , that's why I answered this, just looked up s to see if it was the same as the Merc,, lo and behold it's not, but look identical here is CV
