The HVAC system has drains. Look for a small black rubber hose low on the firewall. It will come out, point down and have a open end.

A common source of water leaking is dried up sealant in the cowl area. Water comes down the inside of the firewall behind the carpet and pools in the foot wells.

Also might want to test the door seals. As these tend to wear out over time as well.

2008 Grand Marques: Wet carpet on driver's side only. Found that rubber boot around a cable under a wire cable connection on the firewall was the problem. Put silicon on the cracked rubber boot. The water ran under the carped and had to pull up the carpet to dry it out. I did not remove the seat. It took three days to dry out after using a wet vacuum and run a fan all day & night.
