2004 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7 v8
My Jeep is supposed to have all four of the wheels
working all the time but just yesterday i found out
that when it's on 4x4 all time only the rear wheels
work not the front why could that be?
Failure in the transfer case is the most common problem, other's could be a ring and pinion in the front differential, internal clutch failure in the transfer case. Did you try the low lock position? If you then get 4WD then for sure it is in the transfer case clutch unit, If you still don't get 4WD then there is a failure in either the transfer case or the front differential.
I did try the 4 low and yes all four wheels did turn
