Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So the other day I was driving my 02 Jeep Grand
Cherokee and realized I had a flat tire as I was
getting ready to change the tire the Jeep made a
clunking noise almost sounding like something fell
off or had broken and it started to run a little rough
and then just died it turned over maybe once or
twice and actually started but very roughly and
died right away now it turns over but will not start

Tennisshoes is correct on both points. It probably was that dreaded crankshaft position sensor (P0320) that's hard to reach. Scan for codes first to be sure. And about quality, don't be afraid to spend $40 on a name brand part. Doing it twice, even with a warranted cheap part is still no fun. To self scan, turn the key from Off to On three times quickly, without starting the engine, stopping at "on", and fault codes will display at the odometer. Camshaft position sensor code is P0340.
