Should 2 new tires go in front or back?

I cannot afford all 4 new tires. I bought two new tires. I have a 2002 Laredo Cherokee, with option for 2wd or 4wd. Where should I put the two new tires?

Put them on the back. Since you have 4 wheel drive you really should replace all four as tires with different wear levels may damage your 4 wheel drive system.
